Who am I?

Hello. I’m Jay.

I live in the amazing state of Montana. I consider myself extremely lucky to have unlimited access to all beauty that Big Sky country has to offer. There is nothing that recharges my energy more than getting outside and breathing in the fresh air.

I worked many years running day-to-day operations for large companies. During this time, I noticed how much more time I was spending working and how much less time I was dedicating to the activities I love. Through my work, I was privileged enough to meet many business owners and was surprised to find many of them in the same boat. Too often they were working in parts of their businesses they disliked (aka keeping the books), too little time growing their business, and even less time doing the things they loved.

That’s when I decided to start my own business. I was inspired to start Black Bookkeeping to help business owners refocus on business growth and get back to enjoying life.

So what do I do?

I am a virtual bookkeeper who helps small business owners find more time to do the work and activities they love by taking care of their bookkeeping tasks for them. With your books organized and maintained, we are better able to understand the finances of your business and, in turn, make better business decisions. If you want to partner with someone who will care for your business as much as you and who can adapt as your business grows and changes, I am your guy.

What are my core principles?

I am a firm believer in the value of time. I feel it is our most important asset. I am here to take care of your bookkeeping so you can be more effective while working and more fulfilled as you spend time with family and friends. 

I also believe clarity leads to more profit. The more organized and accurate your books are, the better we can see how your business is making and spending money.

What’s my creds?

I am a Professional Bookkeeper and a Certified Quickbooks Online ProAdvisor. I experienced 10 years of success increasing and maintaining profitability at the managerial level for multiple retail locations and companies.

Since starting Black Bookkeeping, I have found success helping clients organize their books and get a firm grasp on how their businesses are spending and making money. With this knowledge, they are better equipped to make sound decisions when it comes to efficiency and budgeting.
